Adventure Park Monitor

Overview: Park Monitors are the eyes and ears of the park. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and well-being of all of the park’s guests as well as provide assistance and guidance where needed. It is the duty of the park monitors to ensure that each guest has an enjoyable and memorable experience.

 

Position Details/Duties:

  • Responsible for greeting guests and providing general park information and direction
  • Responsible for harnessing guests as well as delivering instructional safety briefings and gear demonstrations
  • Observe and assist guests as they maneuver throughout the park and the attractions, ensuring that guests are using equipment properly and safely
  • Perform rescues and provide assistance to guests on the courses, as needed
  • Ensure guests are comfortably and competently able to access age/skill appropriate courses/attractions
  • Perform daily course inspections and equipment checks
  • Assist with park grounds and course maintenance, as needed.
  • Responsible for checking, processing and maintaining park equipment
  • Responsible for assisting in park event set up and coordination as needed

 

Requirements:

  • Comfortable working at heights up to 65 feet
  • Attention to detail and an extreme dedication to safety
  • Possess a friendly disposition and professional demeanor at all times;
  • Have a passion for working outdoors and be able to handle all weather conditions
  • Have regular weekend availability; ideal candidates will also have flexible weekday availability and be able to commit to the full season
  • Reliable with strong work ethic and personal integrity
  • Monitors must be able to quickly and competently pick up new skill sets both in training and on the job while maintaining the highest quality standards of performance
  • Strong communication skills and a kind, patient approach to working with people
  • Comfortable with public speaking and providing regular presentations to groups of up to 30 people throughout the day
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Candidates should have some work experience
  • Climbing experience preferred, but not required
  • Candidates with background/experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred: travel/tourism, service industry, customer service, outdoor adventure activities, education, fire/EMT/rescue, rope access construction, arboriculture, zip-line or challenge course industries, and/or general maintenance/construction

 

Schedule:

  • This is an hourly, seasonal position, 20-40 hr/week.  Preference is given to full season candidates.
  • Candidates should have a flexible schedule with both weekday and weekend availability.
  • Candidates that are available for the full season are highly preferred, and will be considered first for any extra winter, off-season hours that may become available.
  • Candidates interested in Summer-only positions must be available for the full summer season—weekends and holidays are required (including July 4th & Labor Day).
  • *Please note that hiring for the full season begins in February/March; hiring for summer-season only staff begins in late-April/May.
  • There is a mandatory orientation session and training period required for all candidates.

 

Adventure Park Office Associate

Overview: The Office Associate Position is responsible for handling all initial guest inquiries, booking reservations, working with group coordinators to assist in hosting group events, and handling other on-site coordination of park programs, online reservations and office duties.

 

Position Details/Duties:

  • Primarily responsible for answering phones and emails; providing guests with basic information about park, programs, discounts and reservation information
  • Responsible for directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel
  • Work with group coordinators and park hosts to greet and manage on-site reservations, events, and special requests
  • Schedule, plan and process payments for all types of reservations
  • Responsible for ensuring that reservation conflicts are communicated with the appropriate supervisors
  • Provide on-site assistance for park events, major reservations and special promotions
  • Assist with harnessing, cashiering, and other park duties as business requires
  • Assist with creating and distributing flyers, brochures, and other materials to promote events, programs and special events
  • Assist with online orders, season passes, and promotional item inventory

 

Requirements:

  • An outgoing, friendly disposition and professional demeanor at all times
  • Enjoy working in an office environment—this is not an outdoor park position.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Organized and able to self-manage
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Remain calm under pressure and to handle difficult situations professionally
  • Ideal candidate will be a quick and independent learner, able to pick up things on the job and quickly adapt to new situations on their own
  • Strong customer service skills, as well as clear and effective communication skills
  • Be able to effectively assess and analyze guests’ needs
  • Computer skills and technological aptitude—experience with Publisher highly preferred
  • Candidates with additional experience/background in the following areas are preferred: travel/tourism, service industry, sales, event planning, outdoor adventure facilities, and customer service.

  • This is an hourly, seasonal position, 20-40 hr/week. Preference is given to full season candidates. Off-season work may become available, but is not guaranteed, and is offered to employees based on performance.
  • Candidates should have a flexible schedule with both weekday and weekend availability.
  • There is a mandatory orientation session and training period required for all candidates.

 

Adventure Park Host

Overview: Park Host are the front lines and first impressions when it comes to the sales and service of our park. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that guests are greeted with a smile, and that all guests continue to experience an exceptional level of customer service and support throughout their entire visit. It is the duty of the park host to carry out a variety of operational duties throughout the day, as outlined below.

Position Details/Duties:

  • Greeting guests and providing general information or direction to guests on any and all park related topics
  • Harnessing and de-harnessing guests
  • Ticket sales, refunds, exchanges, and the corresponding park policies on those transactions
  • Retail sales and inquiries
  • Rain-check distribution process during any extreme weather situation
  • Responsible for general cleanliness of retail area, ticket sales area, bathrooms and other customer and staff areas
  • Work on-site with group organizers to provide assistance to groups with advanced reservations
  • Assist in park event set up and coordination as needed
  • Inventory of customer equipment
  • General park duties, including mulching, cleaning, trash runs, harness processing, and water station refills
  • Assist in other duties or tasks as assigned

Schedule:

  • This is an hourly, seasonal position, 20-40 hr/week. Preference is given to full season candidates. Off-season work may become available, but is not guaranteed, and is offered to employees based on performance.
  • Candidates should have a flexible schedule with both weekday and weekend availability. Seasons typically run from March through early December (depending on location).
  • There is a mandatory orientation session and training period required for all candidates.
  • Candidates interested in Summer-only positions must be available for the full summer season, Memorial Day through Labor Day.
